STE-Consultas - Design Management & Environmental Assessment

DESIGN MANAGEMENT

 Project requirement:

It is essential that the ongoing design be responsive to the functional program

  detailed in the project brief.

  STE’s response:

  •         STE will monitor compliance with program requirements during all stages of the design development and working drawings, as well as monitoring implementation during construction.  During design development, the project manager will monitor the consultant’s work to ensure that the base building design is fully coordinated with the fit-up and commissioning plan.

  •       STE’s proposed program of design management includes:

    - Selection and engagement of specialist consultants to provide design

       input and design review support

    - Design reviews at the preliminary design, 50% detailed design and

      90% detailed design stages

    - Selection of a value engineering (VE) consultant, and coordination of

the VE study and resultant implementation of VE recommendations

    - Constructability reviews of 90% design documents

    - Review of bid documents

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT MANAGEMENT

  Project requirement:

Ensure that a project-specific environmental assessment is carried out promptly to prevent project delays.

  STE’s response:

The environmental assessment for the project will take the form of an environmental screening report.

The project manager will ensure that the study and report satisfy the regulatory requirements for land-use approval as directed by the Executive Director.

The environmental consultant,     through the construction manager, will then be required to identify, confirm, receive and assemble all project documentation , existing and pending engineering and planning studies, site plans, project constraint analyses and other relevant documentation, prepatory to the issuance of the final report on the environmental assessment (EA) scope, schedule, budget and responsabilities.
